2025 Report

Rebuilding market infrastructure, clarifying narrative, and connecting token utility to ecological outcomes.

Year in Review

2025 was a year of rebuilding market infrastructure, clarifying narrative, and connecting token utility to ecological outcomes. Across Q1-Q3, we shipped multichain access, advanced a long-term liquidity strategy, and strengthened community cadence. In Q4, we focused on modeling, listings readiness, and aligning emissions with real sales and retirements. The working group maintained an open program of weekly calls, produced research and public posts, and coordinated with ecosystem partners to turn token mechanics into measurable climate impact.

  • Three pillars guided our work: Investors/Buyers (reward ecological regeneration), Eco Projects (data-driven verification), Network Stewards (open-source development).
  • Major 2025 milestones included cross-chain access, Ledger upgrade progress, and Liquidity DAO funding.
  • Priorities heading into 2026: predictable liquidity operations, buyer onboarding tied to retires and burns, and a public pipeline connecting research, modeling, and marketplace activity.

Year at a Glance

  • Q1: Initiated cross-chain capabilities on Base; strong event presence; identified needs in dev capacity and documentation.
  • Q2: Multichain deployment and liquidity pools; three research papers; Ledger v6.0 work; Commons and Funding launched; consistent community calls.
  • Q3: Consolidated post-upgrade momentum; advanced Liquidity DAO design; narrative work linking $REGEN utility to ecological outcomes.
  • Q4: Weekly meetups on modeling, listings, liquidity choices (Hydrex vs Aerodrome), alignment of emissions to sales, and exchange readiness.

Investors/Buyers: Reward Ecological Regeneration

  • Liquidity and emissions strategy iterations toward a long-term Liquidity DAO, with emphasis on concentrated liquidity and volume growth. Adopted a restructuring direction to route 15% of emissions to the community pool to strengthen public-goods liquidity and grants.
  • Listings and market access preparation, CMC supply data fix, and analytics for listing readiness.
  • Positioning $REGEN as an eco-currency tied to verifiable regenerative activity; frameworks for systematic eco-credit purchasing. The Regen Tokenomics AI Assistant was introduced to help buyers simulate purchase-to-retire pathways.

Eco Projects: Data-Driven Verification

  • Regen Ledger upgrade v6.0 progress (CosmWasm, burn mechanics) and improved testing discipline.
  • Regen Commons and Regen Funding launched to coordinate projects and capital.
  • Marketplace and Eco.Bridge improvements; exploration of fractional ecocredits and payment rails for better UX and conversion.

Network Stewards: Open-Source Development

  • Maintained standing weekly program with 46 documented sessions in 2025; consistent calls throughout the year.
  • Public pipeline and communications improvements, including Notebook-assisted drafting and a refreshed forum.
  • Community growth and onboarding improvements; ethics guidelines published; the Tokenomics AI Assistant documented as an open, iteratively trained tool.

Q3 2025

During Q3 2025 we consolidated the post-upgrade momentum, advanced liquidity strategy design, and kicked off modelling and ecosystem narrative work that connects $REGEN utility with ecological outcomes.

Investors/Buyers - Reward Ecological Regeneration

  • Liquidity and emissions strategy iterations toward a long-term Liquidity DAO and three-tiered approach (Liquidity DAO, SPV, public information), with emphasis on concentrated liquidity and volume growth.
  • Chain upgrade completed and operating stably; follow-on market access and eco-credit strategy review to support investor confidence.
  • Cross-ecosystem collaboration threads continued, including Celo partnership exploration and stable-asset on-ramps to improve usability.

Eco Projects - Data-Driven Verification

  • Improvements to ecocredit marketplace access and Eco.Bridge, aligning narrative and liquidity instruments to increase throughput.
  • Concept discussions on fractionalizing ecocredits and payment rails to enhance UX and conversion.
  • Narrative and story development around eco-credits’ role in financing the green transition.

Network Stewards - Open Source Development

  • Standing program of weekly meetups maintained through the quarter (13 sessions documented), covering SPV, liquidity, bridges, modeling, and event-driven outreach.
  • Public pipeline and communications improvements proposed, including Notebook-assisted content drafting.

Q2 2025

During Q2 2025, we made significant progress across all three strategic pillars. Key accomplishments include the successful launch of multichain capabilities for REGEN, the establishment of Regen Commons, continued development of governance frameworks, and expanded community participation.

Investors/Buyers - Reward Ecological Regeneration

Eco Projects - Data-Driven Verification

  • Developed the Regen Ledger upgrade v6.0 (CosmWasm, token burn mechanic etc) with Vitwit
  • Participated in the launch of Regen Commons as a coordination platform for ecological projects
  • Supported the launch of Regen Funding to connect regenerative projects worldwide with funding sources
  • Developed Model Context Protocol Server for Regen Ledger, creating an API interface for LLM interaction

Network Stewards - Open Source Development

  • Facilitated 13 weekly community calls with consistent attendance of 5-10 participants
  • Attracted 354 unique visitors to regentokenomics.org, with more than half coming from X
  • Welcomed 4 new community members and improved onboarding processes
  • Published comprehensive ethics guidelines at regentokenomics.org/ethics-guidelines
  • Submitted two funding applications to Regen Community Fund
  • Represented Regen Network at multiple international conferences including Edge Esmeralda, Barcelona BioFi Conference, Ecology-Based Economy conference (Maine), and Funding the Commons
  • Launched a better community forum

Reflections

  • Will: Would be great to have DAOdao - that’s what the community staking folks have been waiting for. Right now, there’s a lot of attention on liquidity, but it’s being handled by a separate group.
  • Mark: More people are joining the calls, which is great. Our Telegram has 79 members, but only ~10% join calls. We also need more contributors, more intellectual capital.
  • James: We need more urgency. The token is the core - it’s how we help the network and, ultimately, the planet. If you want to make an impact, hold the token.

Q1 2025

Overall, Q1 2025 showed promising momentum with strong community engagement and strategic developments, despite some resource constraints. The combination of technical progress and community growth positions us well for continued expansion.

  • $REGEN is crosschain: Successfully initiated crosschain capabilities on Base, expanding our network reach and interoperability
  • Tokenomics Innovation: working on better ethos and token liquidity
  • Strong presence at multiple high-impact events: EthDenver, Ethical Capital Formation meeting, Boulder gathering, NYC and SF Funding the Commons events
  • Increased community engagement and passionate discourse around tokenomics and executive summary
  • Development Resources: Experienced bottlenecks in development capacity for planned upgrades
  • Documentation Infrastructure: Identified need for better knowledge management system for our documentation
  • Project Funding: Progress on Giulio’s initiative for regenerative project crowdfunding platform
  • Increasing AI integration in workflows and analysis
